Pre-University at NZSJ
Our Pre-University programme gives students who are going into Grade 11 the opportunity to choose between multiple pathways to University.
At NZSJ, our Pre-University Programme for Grade 11 and 12 is designed to provide a focused, rigorous, and meaningful academic experience that prepares students for life beyond school.
In Grades 11 and 12, students choose a specialised learning stream in either English and Social Sciences or Mathematics and Science. This allows them to deepen their understanding, develop academic strengths, and pursue their individual areas of interest.
Upon completion of Grade 12, students graduate with a High School Diploma, which is recognised and accepted by universities and higher education institutions both locally and internationally. NZSJ graduates have successfully continued their studies at a range of universities across different countries, reflecting the strength and flexibility of our programme.
Through a mix of integrated classes—where they collaborate with peers from other secondary levels—and independent stream-based classes, students build essential skills in leadership, critical thinking, research, and communication. Our programme is guided by the principles of the New Zealand Curriculum, ensuring a well-rounded, values-driven education that adapts to each student’s strengths, goals, and context.
With a personalised approach and a strong emphasis on both academic excellence and personal growth, our pre-university students are well-equipped to navigate the challenges of higher education and make a positive impact in the world.
